Quality Philosophy
Multi-Cast Corporation is a producer of non-ferrous castings with a reputation for producing parts of uniform high quality. We attribute this reputation to our manufacturing and quality control systems. We emphasize the concept of Continuous Improvement whereby we are continuously improving on the value that customers perceive in their products due to improvements in productivity initiated by the members of the general work force.

We believe that improvements in product quality often produce simultaneous reductions in costs. Our ultimate goal is to produce consumer goods on a custom basis for almost instantaneous delivery at costs lower than those featured by other firms. The key to achieving this flexibility and lower unit cost lies in the mindset of our work force.

Quality Incentives
Multi-Cast has implemented a thorough gain-sharing plan. Under this plan, worker compensation—based on the value of castings produced, shipped and accepted by satisfied customers—is increased any time actual payroll is less than the targeted payroll for net value produced. A true "team" atmosphere has been created where every employee is motivated to weigh how his or her actions affect the costs associated with pleasing the customers.

Under this plan, all aspects of the foundry’s operation have been reviewed to find greater efficiency. The long-term effect of this plan has been a significant reduction in scrap. The compensation package also has reinforced the goal of satisfying customers by continuously reducing the number of parts returned.

  • Castings begin with real time x-ray equipment.
  • With this equipment, the operator can manipulate a casting and
vary the level of radiation while viewing its x-ray image on a high resolution monitor.
  • This inspection capability provides production personnel with
prompt feedback aiding in the manufacturing of defect-free castings.
